ACSA has compiled a series of information to help members, legislators, policymakers and other educational stakeholders better understand the Common Core Standards and how they relate to California’s own standards.
The informational guide provides an overview of the Common Core Standards issue, a brief history of their development, a timeline for implementation, frequently asked questions and a comparison between the new and old standards at all grade levels in English language arts and math. Visit www.acsa.org/commoncore for more information.
“ACSA believes the Common Core Standards help prepare our students not only to meet college and work expectations, but also to succeed in a global economy,” said ACSA Assistant Executive Director Julie White. “Through Common Core Standards, expectations for our students are clear.”
Much of the information was provided by the Sacramento COE. Visit www.scoe.net/castandards/index.html.
