The 5th Annual California Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports Spotlight Awards presented by the Anthem Blue Cross Foundation will once again honor individuals, organizations and events that positively impact the physical activity and fitness levels of California’s children and youth. The deadline to apply is June 20, 2010.

 A Gold, Silver and Bronze medalist will be named in each category, except School of the Year, School District of the Year and County of the Year. Gold Medalists will receive $10,000 to further promote physical activity in their communities, Silver Medalists will receive $2,500 and Bronze Medalists will receive $1,000. Gold Medalists will be presented their awards at a special ceremony. All medalists will be prominently profiled on www.CalGovCouncil.org.

Spotlight Award nomination forms are available on-line at www.CalGovCouncil.org/Spotlight. Individuals may nominate themselves or be nominated by others. All nominations must be submitted on-line by June 30, 2010.
