ACSA's Friend of Public Education Award recognizes a state level elected official who demonstrates leadership on behalf of public education through legislative contributions, political efforts or a significant commitment.

Friend of Public Education Award recipients meet the following criteria:

• Demonstrates significant commitment and/or legislative contributions to public education.
• Demonstrates leadership on behalf of public education.
• Recognizes and supports school leadership.
• Supports key pre-K through adult education legislative proposals.
• Supports ACSA’s legislative platform
• Recognizes the significance of ACSA’s role in public education.
