Appointments Process
Those interested in applying for a position on any of the state governing bodies listed below must complete the online application provided on the governor’s website. Below you will find links to the online application and an index of the statutory positions available for appointment.
To complete the governor’s online application form, please read the directions you are given after submission very carefully. It is a requirement of the governor’s office that you print, sign and mail or fax in the final page before your application will be considered.
To Ensure ACSA Involvement and Assistance
Once you have submitted your application to the governor’s office, ACSA may provide advice and also may be able to make recommendations to the governor’s office and/or Senate Rules Committee (in cases where senate confirmation is required) on your behalf. If you wish to complete an application for one or more of the state governing body appointments listed on this webpage, please submit your contact information to ACSA and answer the questions on the form below.
State Appointments and Member Participation
State appointments provide educational leaders with an opportunity to contribute professional expertise and practical insight to statewide boards and commissions that influence education policy and governance. These roles help ensure that the perspectives of school administrators are represented in state-level decision-making.
ACSA encourages qualified members interested in state appointments to review eligibility requirements carefully and to engage early in the process to allow sufficient time for coordination, review, and potential support. These appointments provide meaningful opportunities for member participation in state governance.
